in light of recent events in pakistan, i will be singlehandedly collecting donations of whatever you'd like to give; feel free to start contributing tomorrow, today, now.
don't care? not your battle? not your 'type of people?' so you're not going to give anything? i understand.
in fact, i didn't and still don't give a fuck about katrina. so, until until we have a national collection for pakistan, my only donation to katrina is a whole-hearted 'fuck you.'

Raise your gas cost a whole 15 cents... ya I got mad about the gas too.
But why do you get mad about people that lost their homes?
And seriously...
Your point of view kinda shows the lame-ass "American Way" of life most people present in their attitudes... we can donate millions of dollars to some third world country that gets hit by a tsunami half way around the world... but when our family, or fellow Americans... get hit hard... as you so eloquently put it... 'fuck you.'
nice...real nice...

Y'all just don't get the point. And heaven forbid you think about it, either.
I'm sorry, but I had to say something.Donating:
First of all, when money was given to Katrina victims, a large portion spent the money on stupid things like $500 purses. The people in third world countries spend their money buying food that was already hard to come by. There is a difference between the people that we are donating to.
Second of all, the people of New Orleans are more concerned with putting money back into the superdome and when that would get fixed over fixing the levees. And before this occured they were more concerned with putting their money into things other than the levee.
Thirdly, the people in the third world countries are not too proud to ask for help when they need it, unlike the lovely governor of Louisiana.
Inaction:
Even when it comes to aiding people in third world countries, there seems to be criteria. There has been very little action to aid Pakistan. Why? Maybe it is because they are Muslims and when the tsunami hit, it hurt Hindus and very few Muslims (granted there are a lot of Muslims in India, but they are heavily located to the North). The aid that we have given to Pakistan is quite small comparatively speaking, especially when you look at all the efforts that were made to help with the tsunami.
Also, it is quite sad that Americans can't seem to give enough aid to those they are not so buddy buddy with. If India can give aid to Pakistan in the midst of so much conflict between them, what is that saying about us. India is still dealing with the damage from the tsunami and their attempts to rebuild after that, yet they are willing and able to help their rival.
And to those of you who make claims: BACK THEM UP! Don't complain about something unless you are willing to put the effort into giving a counterpoint.
